Our start takes us from St Jean, France to Orisson high up in the Pyrenees today. The Pyrenees begin just on the edge of town and its uphill all the way to our first overnight. I feel well enough after a round of bronchitis but Nancy is coming down with it now. I wanted to delay further until we know how it affects her. But she insists that she doesn’t get these types of ailments very severely. And, she’s right which is the only reason this is day one. Though she can barely talk with pharyngitis which is how mine started. The day will tell. Wish her well!

I do wish you well… How did the first day on the trail go for both of you?
Hi Dave,
We made it to Orisson. I haven’t posted yet because of bad atmospherics and weak signal. Up in the clouds here which blocked the cell signal plus rain sometimes. When the dense fog lifted I got a connected but then it was communal supper time and after the clouds settled back down on us thicker than ever.
